Pace: Daily Budget & Spend · Last updated October 1, 2026

Pace is designed to keep your money private. The short version: we collect nothing, and your budget stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.

What we collect

Nothing. Pace has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no advertising. We, the developer, cannot see your budget, expenses, name or photo.

Where your data lives

Your budget, expenses, name and profile photo are stored on your iPhone and, if you use it, your Apple Watch. Data on your iPhone is protected by your device passcode, and you can add a Face ID lock in Pace's Settings.

Receipt scanning

When you scan a receipt, the photo is read on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition and, where available, Apple Intelligence. The photo is not uploaded or saved.

iCloud backup and sync

Pace keeps a copy of your data in your own private iCloud account, so it survives a new phone or reinstall and stays in sync across your devices. It is governed by Apple's iCloud terms, and the developer cannot access it. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.

Apple Watch

Your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange your Pace data directly with each other. It is not sent anywhere else.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your device. No push notification server is used.

Exporting and deleting your data

You can export all expenses as a CSV file from Settings. "Erase all data" in Settings permanently deletes everything Pace stores on the device. Deleting the app also removes its data.

Children

Pace does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
